If House music is meant to be inherently funky then both of Mason Maynard’s productions for this 50th release define the term perfectly. The Feeling, captures the moment neatly via a looped, nagging series of vocal edits as the hot bassline takes centre stage in amongst the Chicago flavoured drums, capturing the influences without overtly repeating them. The even better and very excellent, Boundaries then takes that classic bass signature still further stamping it indelibly over addictive, tough beats and a wonderfully breathy, voice which contains a message we could all do with hearing a lot more of.
