Magazine Sixty Music Review with Sarah Davachi

Greg Fenton reviews Sarah Davachi – The Head as Form’d in the Crier’s Choir – Late Music

Listening to Sarah Davachi’s album reveals something more at play than simple notes or words or some melodic device. The music reaches far deeper than that referencing texts and thoughts from centuries old there is a calm, evocative retelling of atmospheric release that feels ancient and wise. Spanning several long-form pieces featuring a host of guest musicians this is music to be absorbed, lived in rather than scanned through. It’s a serious, rewarding endeavour blessed with intrigue and simultaneous motion where you will also find joy as well as somber intonations. Soulful, serene, and resoundingly complete.
