Greg Fenton reviews D + D – Diego Ro-K and Diego Cid – Deal EP – MFF (Music For Freaks)
An excellent production from the pair that ticks all of the boxes for me in terms of hot rhythm, forward-thinking musical flair, and the sort of tempting atmosphere that so succinctly works its way inside your soul. The voice delivers its own timely message, sounding possibly familiar but nonetheless, it remains relevant and important. Then there’s the elastic, mind-blowing acid-infused bassline dancing around the stereo to contend with somehow. Also, check the Instrumental version highlighting all the subtleties, twists and turns, in full tantilising view.
The Nacho Bolognani remix follows in brisk tempo as crispy percussion ignites the grooves while dropping the acid to fuse powerful House beats and bass together most effectively. The second track, Tangadget further excites the senses via a mysterious sequence of chimes alongside impulsive pulses denoting emotional bombs to complete this imaginative, hard-hitting release from all concerned.
