Greg Fenton reviews Angel Lin – All Of These Are In Me – Full Spectrum Records

Are there fresh ways of describing music that doesn’t rely upon words to convey a message? Probably not. But I guess what is important is the intensity of emotions that get stirred by listening to sounds without boundaries. Angel Lin produces remarkable sounds on All Of These Are In Me that feel dangerously intense yet at times calming and reflective. It’s quite a stage sensation but a most welcome one to receive. That eeriness even transgresses the fiery drums of Rivers and tides as haunting motifs and signatures illicit a quest for the unknown to be revealed amid blistering revelations. Alternatively, the brushstrokes igniting Forests and water suggest an altogether jazzy tendency. While the shining, shimmering bells denoting Rain and lighting capture more cosmic inclinations. Either way, the album allows space to instill deeper listening values that are not reliant on speech to convey their intuitive spiritual intention.
