Greg Fenton reviews Andreas Tilliander and Goran Kajfeš – In Cmin – Kontra-Musik Records
Lots of elements inspire belief in the way this album feels and sounds. It’s sourced in the cool blasts of trumpet that readily bathes the music in atmosphere and depth charged with intention, fused to a radical rewiring of sensory perception as synthesisers fizz and dazzle, alongside the dark brush of someone like Chris Carter’s brilliant motifs defying the moments of beauty adorning the journey throughout this incredible, musical landscape of seeing and believing.
Try, More Than Worlds full of innate funkiness and a wealth of the exotic. Or the magical delight of Moon of Eris. The soothing bliss of Moss, while the edgier grain of truth contained within Twozerozerofive again defies easy description. As much enthral as this proves eternally tempting the music pivoted across In Cmin is never less than compelling talking in intriguing languages, never short of being excessive in terms of an intense rollercoaster ride.
