Having recently watched the Caroline Catz portrait of Delia Derbyshire it’s hard not to reflect on the nature of sound and its impact on the everyday. This latest EP from Carlo Giustini blends the fuel and fire of that emotional fortitude together with an array of finely tuned sounds to create something which is as ambient and atmospheric, as it is musically inviting. From the title tracks uplifting opening to the much deeper bass driven Sacchi Di Juta to the probing exploration of jazzy meaning contained within Mozziconi (Dalla Finestra, In Penombra) this proves to be a most satisfying listen driving across various boundaries, blurring distinctions.
